A tribute to the world’s most recognized Western Sharpshooting showman & celebrated coach and instructor to Hollywood stars, FBI Agents, SWAT Teams and Police Academies…  Joe Bowman coached Robert Duvall for his role as “Gus” in Lonesome Dove, as well as taking Mr. Duvall to Joe’s favorite hat maker and boot maker to have the hat and boots he wore in Lonesome Dove custom made in Houston.  He owned a famous boot shop in the 1950’s & made two pairs of exquisite boots for Roy Rogers.  Sammy Davis, Jr. owned custom made Ruger revolvers made by Joe Bowman and was one of his best students.  Four Texas governors made Joe Bowman their “Ambassador of Goodwill”.  When Joe Bowman passed away, extensive tributes came from The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Houston Chronicle, NPR Radio among many others…
